| Joplin, Janis Another delight. Matt Lauer interviews Clive Davis (070903), The Finder of Stars, impresario of rock musicians, and more, the likes of Dylan and Franklin, Manilow and McLachlan, Joel and Houston, Santana and Springsteen, not to say the bands, various. Add to that unbelievable list JANIS JOPLIN. She came. She conquered. She entertained. She educated. She sang. She died. Between time she did herself in by drugs. Make no mistake, she killed herself by not being as tender with herself as with you and most who grew intense in her grace. There are those at her death who cried, and others who decried her ways, yet all might agree, she died too soon. Having looked at the Lauer/Davis interview you grow doubtful. Maybe she lived just long enough for her influence to grow godly. http://www.law.harvard.edu/alumni/bulletin/2001/spring/index.html |
