The endpoint of this contemplation is, you can take a holiday from God as a word, but you cannot get away from the living reality of influence and so, if Hartshornes right, you cannot get away from the living reality of God.
Yet not any influence will do for God; evidently God means Influence For The Good. Thankfully, for those who spend their time thinking about these matters, that opens the door for the Contrary Character to enter, center stage. Still you might talk ad infinitum on the rules of all this and well conclude that in time All Influence Serves The Good.
Naturally influence involves context and that involves point of view. So it could also be that you have to wait beyond time, maybe for all time, for all influence to serve The Good. But then thats a long time to have to wait unless theres a portal nearby onto time eternal. |
