In Genesis, as the story goes,
God creates all that bears form
from a formless void, breathing
shape into creation, and division.
And then God speaks and says,
It Is Good, meaning suitable, apt,
complete, inclusive, integral.
By right word, right deed, godly
inspiration works within a context
of a primordial arising of a thing
from no thing, a process of being
and becoming of this and that
from not this, not that, shrouded
all in a mystery of very thin air.
Oh for the eyes to see that much
and then say it with the density
of unconditional reception when
difference and division threaten
the order of your day, the blessing
of the moment, the parting of the way
with another.
Love alone bars the rule cruel,
Brokenness means breakdown.
