COURSE BUDGETS

ROP courses are given a yearly budget allotment that can go towards classroom and instructor expansion, supplies and equipment.  This allotment is allocated by our generated ADA per courses from the year before and given a percentage towards the following calendar year.  During a recent teacher meeting, we were given a short lecture on course expenditures that show how much financial considerations are put into the classes we teach.  Some of the data showed how our income and class materials are put against the total classroom expenses.  With the move to different campuses this year, this data was used in order to show how the course would benefit the campus and also guide the location of appropriate facilities for the courses transferring over.

FACILITIES FLOOR PLANS

The Information Technology Department had to recently relocated to another campus; from our central facility to a high school campus.  After the initial survey of a potential classroom was conducted, a floor plan of the classroom was designed in order to evaluate if the equipment for thirty student desks would fit the dimensions.  Using Microsoft Visio, a blue-print was designed to-scale of the equipment and student desk areas.  Once a layout was accepted by the instructor and administrator, the final blue print was printed on a large scale banner in order to facilitate the janitorial staff in moving the equipment.  One of our information technology courses in networking works with students on projects to develop plans before installing a network infrastructure in rooms.  The students first trials are done on graph-paper before being finalized on the computer.
