Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing purposes.  The word aroma in aromatherapy is misleading because essential oils are not solely used as inhalants; they can also be massaged into the skin or, although less common, taken orally.  Whether inhaled, absorbed, or ingested, essential oils have been proven to be an effective treatment for infections, stress, any many other conditions.
Pure, concentrated plant extracts have been used for centuries and knowledge of their properties has been collected throughout many ages.  The statemants regarding these products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.  These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.  The information on this web site is designed for educational purposes.  It is not intended to be a substitute for informed medical advice or care.  You should not use this information to diagnose or treat any health problems or illnesses without consulting a doctor.  We make no therapudic claims accept no liability.  We simply suggest traditional uses based on the wisdom of those who lived in harmony with nature.
Described as "Acupuncture without needles," acupressure probably predates its better-known sister therapy. Part of Chinese Medicine, it is based on the theory of qi ("life energy") flowing through channels in the body called meridians. Finger and thumb pressure is applied to acupoints to relieve certain conditions and to promote harmony and good health. It is widely practiced in China and gaining popularity in the West.
Part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture has been practiced in China for thousands of years, and only became known in the West in the 1970s, when its use as an anesthetic received sensational press coverage. Practitioners insert fine needles into specific points on the body as a treatment for disorders ranging from asthma to alcohol addiction, but most often in the West as a means of pain relief.
Biofeedback operates on the notion that we have the innate ability and potential to influence the automatic functions of our bodies through the exertion of will and mind. Biofeedback has recently been shown to give us what had previously seemed an impossible degree of control over a variety of physiologic events. For example, a person can be trained in a matter of days to cause the temperature of one hand to rise five to ten degrees higher than that of the other hand, while not contracting the hand muscles. What is amazing is that even animals can be trained. In one experiment, researchers trained a laboratory rat to produce a differential in the temperature of its two ears in order to receive a food reward.
Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) is the Chinese art of creating balance and harmony in your environment and life. Feng Shui is utilized as environmental medicine. This healthy medicine creates frequencies to stimulate well being for the occupants of the space. Feng Shui takes ordinary items of every day life such as furniture, plants, colors, and lighting to create harmonious resonance with good fortune.

Feng Shui means "wind and water." Wind and water are wonderful examples of how energy moves through our lives. Feng Shui examines the flow of energy as well as the quality of the flow. Blockages or excessive amounts of energy in the wrong place can lead to negative feelings, decreased states of health, loss of opportunities, and other problems. Tornadoes and floods are demonstrations of excessive energy that need to be avoided to promote beneficial conditions for individuals. Droughts and still air demonstrate decreased energy levels which cause different problems for individuals in there paths.
Over 80% of the world's population relies on herbs for health. Diverse cultures use herbal remedies to treat disease and promote well-being. Many prescription drugs are derived from plants, but herbal remedies differ from conventional medicine in using parts of the whole plant rather than a single active ingredient. In the past 200 years, plant species from North America, Africa, and Australia have become part of Western Herbalism, and today herbs from other cultures are being introduced as herbal medicine gains popularity.

The world is surrounded by magnetic fields: some are generated by the earth's magnetism, while others are generated by solar storms and electrical devices: motors, televisions, office equipment, computers, microwave ovens, the electrical wiring in homes, and the power lines that supply them.  Even the human body produces subtle magnetic fields that are generated by the chemical reactions within the cells and the ionic currents of the nervous system.
Recently, scientists have discovered that external magnetic fields can affect the body's functioning in both positive and negative ways, and this observation has led to the development of magnetic field therapy.
MAGNETIC THERAPY
A well-trained massage practitioner employs his hands as finely tuned yet powerful tools to promote wellness. As awareness grows and misconceptions fade regarding the value of massage therapy, more and more people are discovering the profound benefits available to them through regular body work. The origins of therapeutic massage are rooted in the common instinctual response to hold and rub a hurt or pain. It is found in all cultures as an integral part of health care and maintenance. Hippocrates, the father of western medicine, considered massage of prime importance in any health regime. Galen and the Romans also greatly prized the healing benefits of massage. With the re-emergence of holistic health theories and therapies, therapeutic massage is experiencing a renaissance and is regaining its rightful place among health care practitioners.
Foot reflexology is the practice of stimulating areas of the feet that correspond to parts of the body with specific hand, thumb and finger techniques. This stimulation is believed to have a positive effect on a person's health and well-being. It is not massage. We know that foot reflexology is very relaxing, and periods of relaxation are important in our lives. Foot reflexology is not a substitute for medical care. While foot reflexology will help enhance over-all health and well-being, a sick person should seek medical attention.
Yoga is a time-tested science that focuses on the individual, the person who practices yoga. Yoga incorporates a series of postures, which are done with the ultimate objective of achieving a quiet mind. Yoga helps us to relate to the universe around us and is the system of self-discovery. The practice of yoga dates back five thousand years. The early yogis (name given to those who practice yoga) left us the tools and techniques, when taught correctly, to produce repeatable results that can be observed and documented.
Yogas roots are in India and the original texts written on yoga are in Sanskrit. On the literal level, the word yoga is translated as union, to yoke or bring together. It is said that practicing yoga brings one back in touch with the state of the union, or oneness, that exists at the core of every being.
