Battersea 5 Napanee Jr's 8

A see saw battle at the Battersea dome. Chris Lewis staked the Napanee Jr's to a one run lead in the top of the first with a solo shot to right field. Battersea would tie it up in the bottom of the second. The Jr's would take the lead again in the top of the fourth and the merchants would come in and tie it up in their half of the inning at 2 - 2. The Jr's opened up a two run lead in the top of the fifth but Battersea responded with a three run rally to tie and take their first lead of the game. Andrew Wemp's solo shot to left field allowed the Jr's  to tie the game at 5 apiece.  In the top of the seventh Mike Roantree got things started getting aboard on a infield screamer that short stop Mike Tye couldn't find the handle on. Both Keller and Nathan Moffat would score on another Andrew Wemp single to give the Jr's a 3 run lead.  Some excellent defence closed out the bottom of the seventh, none out, when with Runners on third and second short stop Chris Lewis made a diving catch to his right on a hard hit ground ball by Derek Shaver makes the throw to first and Ben Tee came home with the throw to Kyle Mack for the tag at the plate to turn a double and reduce the threat. Keller got Devon Lake to ground out back to him to end the inning.  Keller picked up his first win of the season scattering 6 hits and striking out 8. Jr Monds gave up 8 hits and struck out 2 both pitchers hit a bats man and walked 2 each. Andrew Wemp had the hot bat for the Jr's when needed to tie up the game and cash in the runs at the end of the game. Brad Cashman hit a monster shot into the woods to lead of the top of the fifth inning.
