The Cowboys defense started to round into form with a nice full extension catch by David Purdon in right field in the second and a nice catch by Jeff Hannah in centre off of hot hitting Tyler Robinson in the fourth.  The Cowboys offence started to make noise in the fifth inning off of relief pitcher Blake Orr.  Jeff Hannah hit a hard line drive to right field that forced Robinson to make a tough running/diving catch on for the first out of the inning.  Tim Murphy followed with a bloop single to centre and one out later Jon Swaine hit his first homerun of the season to left centre field.  Sydenham responded in the sixth inning scoring on a throwing error to make the score 6-4.  Shortstop Jamie Purdon made a nice play up the middle to throw out Ken Spicer to end the Sydenham threat.   In the bottom of the inning the Cowboys used some patience at the plate and some clutch hitting to score five runs  Orr gave up five walks in the inning along with an RBI infield single to Jeff Hannah and a grand slam homerun to Doug Kane.  Kane became the first Cowboy to hit a homerun into the right field netting.  Starting pitcher Jon Swaine came back onto the mound in the seventh in relief of Adam Garrison to shut down Sydenham for the victory.
