Son of Johann Philipp & Gertraud (geb. Herrmann) Ritzert of Biblis. Came to America in 1847 as a widower of two wives with his family. He was a farmer. He is buried in the old St. Philip cemetery, Posey Co., IN, USA.

Margaretha Ritzert #647 (1824-1874) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1846, a year before the rest of the family. She married Michael Bastnagel on 17 Oct 1848 in St. Joseph RCC, Vanderburgh Co., IN. The now famous Rev. Roman Weinzaepfel officiated at that wedding. The marriage produced five children. Michael & Margaret lived on an 80 acre farm in Marrs Township, Posey Co. that was purchased on 9 Dec 1852. They are buried in old St. Philip cemetery, Posey Co., IN.
Heinrich Ritzert #645 (1828-1913) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1847 with family. He married Barbara Krack on 6 Jan 1857 in St. Philip RCC, Posey Co., IN. Their marriage produced 11 children and they lived in Marrs Township, Posey Co., IN. Henry and Barbara are buried in St. Philip cemetery.
Valentin Ritzert #650 (1832-1918) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1847 with family. He married Frances Becker (1837-1924) on 6 Jan 1857 in St. Philip RCC, Posey Co., IN. They had five children. Marrs Township was their residence until they moved to Campbell Township, Warrick Co. in the 1860's. They are buried in St. Joseph cemetery, Evansville, IN.
Elisabeth Ritzert #643 (1835- ) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1847 with family. She married John Roth on 12 Apr 1856 in St. Philip RCC. (I have no other information.)
Franziska Ritzert #644 (1840- ) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1847 with family. She married August Moeschner on 29 Oct 1858 in St. Philip RCC in Posey Co., IN. (I have no other info.)
Barthel Ritzert #642 (1842-1922) Descendants Ancestors
Came to America in 1847 with family. He married Margaret Becker (1844-1924) on 26 Nov 1867 either in Holy Trinity RCC in Evansville or in St. Rupert RCC in Red Brush, Warrick Co., IN. They are buried in St.Joseph cemetery in Evansville, IN. (I have no other information.)
