 Johann Kissel #415 (1776-    )   Descendants Ancestors


Johann was the son of Johann Reinhard Kissel (1733-1794) and Maria
Franziska Glanzner (1738-1794) of Biblis.  He married Katharina Franck #S03  
on 22 Sep 1801. Katharina died in 1814 after 13 years of marriage and five 
children.  On 13 Jun 1816, Johann married 

Anna Maria Reis #579 (1789-    ) Descendants Ancestors

daughter of Valentin Reis (1754-1828) and Margaretha D�rr (1761-1815).
The union of Johann and Anna Maria had issue of six children.
 
By 1850, Johann, Franz, Elisabeth (from Johann's first marriage), Nikolaus,
Katharina, Michel and Heinrich were living in Armstrong Township,
Vanderburgh County, Ind., USA.  Apparently, Anna Maria had died by then, 
since she was not listed in the 1850 U.S. Census.  Johann was listed as
a cooper with total worth of $1200.  The burial places of Johann and 
Anna Maria have not yet been found.


 
Kissel, Nikolaus #436 (1817-1906)  Descendants Ancestors T.S. Picture

Came to America with parents around 1846.  He married Sophia Schill on 12 Jun 1854.  This 

first marriage produced four children.  Sophia died in 1861. Nick then married Maria Anna 

Gumbel on 13 May 1862. The second marriage produced six children. Nick and Maria are buried

in St. Joseph Cemetery (Vanderburgh Co., IN)

   Daughter of Valentin & Viktoria (geb. Dittmaier) Kunz of Biblis. Emilie was born in 

   Vienna, Austria.  She came to America in ____.
  
The St. James 150 Yr. book says that Mike and Emilie were the first couple to be married 
in the newly completed parish church in 1857 (although my records show a marriage date of 
23 Sep 1856).  Mike and Emilie are buried in St. James Cemetery, Gibson Co., IN, USA.
