Helfrich, Katharina (1841-1841)
Nikolaus Helfrich, his wife Anna Maria (nee Mehler) and his family arrived
in New Orleans on the ship 'Marcia Cleares', from Antwerp, Belgium on 18
June 1845. The family settled in or near Belleville, Illinois, across the
Mississippi River from St. Louis. Nikolaus died there in 1849. Most of the
descendants remain in the Belleville/St. Louis area.
