August, 2000

Kenneth Blanchard

The July meeting of the LF&G was held on the 11th at the club 25 members attended and the raffle raised $45. The raffle prizes were two lithographs of American Rifleman covers donated by Mike Carter.

The Kiwanis club donated $250 to the club in appreciation for the use of our facilities for their fishing derby.

Our June and July silhouette shoots were again threatened with rain but it held off so nobody got wet. I will need some help setting up for the August shoot ,also you can earn your work credit, if you can help call me. These shoots are not sanctioned and are just for fun so come out and try it.

I am appalled at the complete lack of safe firearm handling I have witnessed this year. No firearm is to be hugged, kissed, fondled, or handled in any fashion when anybody is down range. Period!

Next meeting August 1st at the club, 7:30 pm.

Twelve new members joined in July Robert Otey, John Fitzgibbons, Duane Sutton, Shawn Glover, Robert Guaraldi, James Maloney, Steve Turgeon, Lain & Diane Coryell, Vincent Piecuch, Louis LaLiberte, Jason White, and Walter Haley.

The club officers are: President, Art Pollak 432-3964, Vice President, Mark Krochmal, 623-7936, Secretary, Ken Blanchard, 622-1680, Treasurer, Rich Berthiaume, 669-9345.

If you have an e-mail address you can receive the newsletter via email and save the club some money. Send it to me at [email protected] if you change your e-mail let me know, and also be sure to give the complete address.
