March, 2001

Kenneth Blanchard

The February meeting of the LF&G was held on the 6th at the Manchester Firing Line 23 members attended and the raffle raised $41. As usual this time of the year things are slow at the club. Now is the time for anyone who may be interested in scheduling or starting future events to get their plans formulated and submitted. Art Pollak was presented with a plaque in appreciation for his many years of service and dedication to the club.

Gene Hammer and Greg Weeden will have scout troop 98 at the club, March 24th for black powder shooting and a camp out. They will be using the 25 and 50-yard ranges. They are expecting about 25 kids ages 13 to 18 to participate. If anyone would like to help out call Gene at 603-432-0551

The power line construction is well underway. Although I have not been able to see it myself members have reported that "all the trees are gone" and "they are working right behind the 100 yard backstop" If anyone is working behind the backstop or anyplace downrange from the firing line, DON’T SHOOT!! It is obvious that we have a new set of problems to deal with and we will do so as they arise.

The next meeting will be held March 6th 7:30 pm at The Manchester Firing Line (formerly Wolf Range) If you need directions call them at, 603-668-9015. Jim McCloud is letting us use his classroom free of charge.

Three new members joined in February, Kenneth Sindelais, Peter Moore, and Mark Falardeau.
