In Memory of Del Tera's Firelight II
We are sad to report the 2006 passing of Del Tera's Firelight II, a 29 1/2 inch, 24 y/o bay roan miniature stallion! We actually purchased Firelight in 2003 to be the first pony for the newest Fitzgerald's, age 3, 4 and 6, but his charm won us all over. Firelight, who was previously the herdsire at Lays Miniature Farm, rode, drives, climbed stairs, visited nursing homes, schools, churches, the Houston Children's Festival, and more. He is shown above playing the "One Horsepower Schoolbus" in a 2003 costume contest with Sean, age 4 in the tack! We are, however, blessed to report the arrival of "Sonlight" by Firelight and out of Peaceful Valley Misty (age 20) one week after Firelight's death. Sonlight has taken over his sire's jobs, including school visits and fundraisers and is a great hit with the kids. |
