To me Jenny Diski is one of the most astonishing and funniest writers today�and that�s why I decided to dedicate some of my website�s space to her.
Since this site is still under construction this section here (the English version)is not yet finished...well, this is just a temporary state...I am planning to change things 'round here to make it possible for you to get to know something about Jenny Diski beyond her date of birth...hehe...

She was born in 1947 in London and still lives and works there. Actually one can always find biographical information about her in her books and stories but since they're all sort of "implicit"(I hope that word does exist in English) reading Skating to Antarctica - her first "explicit" biographical novel � is somehow special. While this one deals with discovering things about her childhood, in her new and up to now unreleased novel (that I have found out about at Amazon UK ) called Stranger on a Train she "picks up her story at the age of 16, when, believing that she was going mad, she checked herself into a mental hospital. She traces the journey back to some kind of sanity and intercuts it with a contemporary journey across America in the company of strangers. This is an exploration of strangers, strangeness and estrangement." Jenny Diski also is a regular contributor to the London Review of Books and you can find lots of her publications in Don�t OR just check the LRB to read some more recent ones.
