_____The Lexington Friends are located at 649 Price Avenue off of Sixth Street, just two blocks west of North Broadway. We meet each Sunday with a First Hour discussion from 9:30 am until 10:15 am (or so), followed by the regular unprogrammed service - the Meeting for Worship - starting at 10:30 am - 11:30 am, followed by Introductions and Announcements and ending, generally, around noon. The building is opened at 9:00 am - 9:15 am for coffee, tea, and snacks if you want to get there early.
_____First Hour consists of different discussions on Quaker beliefs, Quaker history, peace movements, moral living, important historical figures, and many other topics which affect our daily lives. The second part of our weekly service consists of one hour of silent worship. During this hour, we listen in expectant silence for the "still, small voice" to inspire vocal ministry.
_____ Childcare is available. Children are welcome to sit with us during silent worship. First Day School is available for children during the second half hour of Silent Worship.
_____We have a monthly potluck on the first Fridays of each month. For this, we gather together at 6:30 pm, and start to eat at 7:00 pm. We have either a social or discussion activity after the meal. Starting in October, we are changing our traditional third Friday potluck to something we call the "Quaker Eights" potluck which will be gatherings of eight people at different houses. Anyone is welcome to participate in this.
_____All who come in peace and friendship are welcome.
