Types of Entertainment Ways to Save
When you come home from a long days work, you want to have some fun and relax. These activities are considered entertainment expenses.
Example entertainments include:
Going to the movies
Renting or buying videos, DVDs, or video games
Going to concerts or sporting events
Going out with friends
Shopping
Each of these items involves spending money. You need to evaluate what activities you like to do on a weekly or monthly basis and then determine how much each of those activities costs. This money needs to be part of your budget.
There are ways to save money on entertainment expenses.
Purchase discount tickets to movies from the theater - typically if you purchase a "gift package" or book of tickets, they are discounted.
Join the local video store's club. For example, some video stores offer deals such as 30 rentals for $30.
At concerts or sporting events consider sitting in a higher section. With the large screens in most venues you still get to see all the details.
Buy an Entertainment Book from a local fundraising organization. These books provide hundreds of discounts to events, restaurants, and stores. View a book.
Wait for sales at your favorite stores. Department stores now publish discount coupons in local papers a few times a month.
What ever you decide to do for entertainment, remember if you encounter unexpected expenses one month, your entertainment budget may be the first to shrink.
