I was delegated to get photo's for a recording artist in Tampa. Contracts usually are recommended through agents and or scouts to design Logos and what have you to promote their image. It was Fred Jermaine Allen who was promoting for Underwood Records needing a CD cover for OWe'Jive. The title track of his album was "MY NECK MY BACK"... I wondered why?
Yep, that's the song
KHIA used and made a big Debut on BET Video's. Well, we won't go into details about that, we will just say Willie Hill's promoter called us first, and it was their artist who worte the original track.
VEE VEE (HUSH REPORTER)
It was different meeting, (Willie Hill) OWe'Jive.
He was a lot of funn to work with. But, a real character I must admitt. Our company, arranged a photo shoot during his recording session which allowed me one-hour to interview. Boy, time flies when you're pressed to get a mile in a minute.
Can't you tell, it was difficult taking his pictures?
I wasn't there for games I had time, not on my side that day. I felt part responsible for he almost needing real crutches after I was done. (smile)
(Willie Hill)  OWE'JIVE
Look how dirty It gets working with these rappers, perhaps you now understand why his track is called "MY NECK MY BACK".
I wasn't enjoying a moment of this nonsense because getting someone to take
a few pictures should never be this hard. Everyone down at HUSH think it's easy getting artist to smile for their interviews.
I had to almost put him in the hospital for a few lousy photo's.
(hmmm)
FORCED TO TAKE  PICTURES
After the job was complete and all the sweat I'd put into making this guy co-operate certainly, getting back to the lab was well worth it.
Finally, I felt it was time to take a break, just to kick back and unwind, I told Lewis, and the  entirer staff all of what it took, to do this assignment.   They all looked at each other smiled, and then left the room.
Hmmm, So the next time you think making CD covers are a walk in the park, think again.(smile)
