Red Dwarf Under Power |
|
|
|
Today we managed to putt the little red boat around the lake under electric power. Although we had hopes of planing, all we accomplished was a little turbulence and a severely nose-up attitude; a great disappointment. One possibility is that the weight of the battery, all the way at the stern, was just too much to deal with for the little boat. So was the hydrilla, which is doing very well in these waters, thank you very much. Fortunately for Cap'n Jake, he carried Plan B (the paddle) and all was well.
One complete success was pair of Talkabout 2-way radios. Dr. J was a mile away across the lake when I needed to talk him out of the lakeweed. Of course he drove me nuts by trying every button, knob, and setting on the little blankety-blank thing, but I think it's a winner and a keeper anyhow. Also will see service on land.

Ready to go, and possibly a little bit camera shy. |

Zipping along, nose up and Plan B at the ready. |

...and tail dragging. In reverse, she ships water. A problem.
Although you can't read it, the writing in the white blotch says RED DWARF. J wants to get a little Dave Lister action figure on a scaffold... |

And there's a nice shot of the wake... bye for now, Dude. |
