After suffering a fire in our home, I found myself with little to no drawer space.  i purchased an inexpensive wicker laundry basket from the local $ store.  I folded my sheets into sets, and filled the basket.  I keep it on the floor in my bedroom arranged in the corner along with a lamp, chair and afgan.  Your sheets are always handy this way, plus it gives the room a homey look.
If you have trouble sleeping at night, or even if you don't, you might try a few drops of lavendar oil on a small towel or wash cloth laid on your pillow or a few drops can be put directly on your pillow.  It is very relaxing and has a wonderful aroma.  A few drops added to a nice hot bath before bedtime is also very relaxing.
To ripen pears, peaches or tomatoes, store them in a brown paper bag with ripe apples.  Ripe apples give off ethylene gas whick stimulates the ripening to take place more quickly.
I have very little drawer space in my kitchen.  For storage purposes, I took a bushel basket, such as apples or peaches would come in, here is where i keep dishtowls, extra potholders, and dish clothes.  I simply set it on the floor in front of my bakers rack.
To thicken stews, use a small amount of quick cooking oats or grated potato.
Keep measuring cuts, and measuring spoons on your counter top in a decorative basket.  This keeps them handy and always easy to get to.
Depending on the size of your closet, 2-3 fabric softner sheets laid on the shelf or tied  around a hanger, will help keep your clothes and closet smelling fresh.
When you chop or cut any food that is high in vitamin c, it releases an enzyme that can destory the vitamin.  Always leave your fruits whole or in large pieces, until ready to serve.
When my grandson spilled pepsi on my carpet the other day, and I had no carpet cleaner, I grabbed the next closest thing I had, laundry stain remover, (shout, spray-n-wash).  Spray the stain and rub with a cold wet rag.  It worked wonders.
