Background
Grelheim as a planet has a gravity 1.5 times that of earth. Making the
people born on the planet sturdier than most. The planet itself has
four major ethnic backgrounds stemming from the two major colonization
efforts, one from Ireland and Scandanavia, the other from Japan and
India.
The two landing areas remain the focus of the factions, each on one of
the
two main continents. The two largest cities are New Londonderry and
Kawaguchi.
Much of the New Londonderry area is not extremely well off, in fact
it would be called fairly depressed. As such organized crime is
a major problem for the population. As a remote area of the UFP,
little is often done at the Federation level to halt the graft and
crime.
Corwin's father was involved as a minor enforcer within the
organization,
primarily working as a guard for some of the lesser illegal ventures.
Corwin grew up living in the "family" that was the crime world of New
Londonderry. Taking a stand against his father when he entered the
OCS program to join Starfleet. It took several years for the two to
come to terms, and by the end of his father's life he had finally
be accepted back into the family.
On return trips to New Londonderry Corwin tries to stay out of the
way, however, his extended "family" still takes care of his mother
and when he shows up he gets taken around to all the haunts. This
is a major change from the original reaction to Corwin's initial entry
into Starfleet, the death of his father changed most of the attitudes,
though there are some high tensions with some of the younger members,
balking at his treatment by the leadership of the "family".
Pysch Makeup
Somewhat rough at times, Corwin is a gifted engineer and pilot, but
sometimes gets a bit loud and booming. However, he is approachable.
His Irish brogue gets the better of him while under stress. Even
though he is no longer allowed to pilot combat shuttlecraft in a
mission environment he still loves to get out every chance he has
and get some shuttle flight.
Medical
The limp in his left leg has been something of a sticking point
since he received the injury and subsequent rejection of treatment.
He has worked for years to eliminate the limp, and has proven
mostly successful, still when tired his limp is accentuated.
