Celica TA22

Here's a few shots of the Celica when I first got it in June '98

Interstate '76 poser in '99 minus the weapons :(

Here's a few shots of it now with it's new 1G-GTE motor back in Dec 2001.  It previously had a 3T-GTE motor modified with a Nissan CA18 Turbo, followed by a RB20 Turbo, but that engine crapped out on me after a month of torture.  No more torture with the 1G-GTE, except on occasions when muh foot's a'heavy...

Here's how it looks from outside the house... looks ratty.

Modified the old style dash with a new dash from an Integra DA7 in Jan 2003.  Not my first choice but I got the dash for only $200 plus the air cond is very coooool.

Finally I got a chance to update my celica page after such a long time. The shitty ratty paintjob is now all gone! Got the paint done on June 2004 after 6 years of abuse and tests. Heres some pics I took recently.

Here how the inside of the car looks now. The digital climate control plus the whole air cond unit was transferred together with the dash. It is much cooler than the stock Toyota air cond unit. I added a Lamco oil temp. and press. gauge which I got from my buddy at the wreckers.

The engine is pretty much the same except that I've begin toying around with the boost. The turbo's used to max out at 8psi but now with the boost controller those old fashion CT12's got up to 15 psi easily, almost double boost!! Muh foots a'Heavy again!! Turbo lag has been cut down but its still slower than a single turbo set up.

Next plan - Single turbo setup, brake upgrade but firstly get a better boost controller maybe GReddy or Turbosmart instead of using the current "Chicken" brand.
