Rituals
©2001 - 2003 H.P Cyn
The Rites of Leviathans Cove can be conducted either in an indoor temple or an outdoor Temple usually during the dark hours or at 12 am.
The alter should be either in the west or the east. It should be constructed out of wood or stone and when indoors left covered with an alter cloth, made out of silk or satin onyx or amethyst in color. This can either have the sigil or baphomet embroidered on the cloth or not that is up to you. There should be silver candleholders on either end of the alter containing the 2 onyx candles on the inner of the 2 onyx there should be one amethyst and one crimson. These are to be new unlit candles in place while no one is in the temple. Just before the rites begin the candles are changed to the ones that were previously used for the same rite or you may use the unlit candles. This is of major importance you must not use the same candles for more than one type of rite, in doing so it damages the outcome of the rite.
There should be other candles placed around the temple (onyx and crimson), to be used for lighting at all times as all light within should be from candles, in other words no artificial lighting whatsoever. The temple should be painted onyx, crimson or amethyst. There should be hard wood floors or the onyx, crimson, or amethyst covering. There should be a crystal near the alter usually suspended near or from the ceiling.
Behind the alter or between the candles the image or a sculpture of the Baphomet or of Leviathan should be placed.
During rituals there will be silver or crystal goblets, silver or crystal dish, a pin or a knife for use. When not in use they must be covered with an onyx cloth (silk or satin), and kept in a wooden chest.
To enter the Temple at anytime, there will be no shoes worn, and either in robes or onyx colored clothing.
For the outside temple the area should be marked off by 9 stones, the outside alter can be the ground covered by a cloth or whatever deems necessary. The candles should be placed in lanterns. The area should be well known by the participants, as there is to be no artificial lighting used when getting to the temple. There also should be no bon fires during the rites.
Within either temple no banishing shall be used as what forces or energies that arise shall bring the temple closer to the Prince of Darkness and the powers of the darkness.
Reasons For Rituals
Rituals are conducted for 2 reasons: for the benefit of the participating members and for the magickal energy. There are many benefits from rituals: Carnal, material, and spiritual.
Rituals should be full of drama and emotions, this happens with the tones of the voice and how things are spoken. You must obtain the right atmosphere for magickal rites; texts and chants must be recited with desire. You must become the person in which the role that you are in.
The rituals must be performed without fear and doubt, for those are what destroys many things, as being without fear and doubt if what the true spirit of the Satanist is.
Before the rite
has begun the aim or desire must be selected and the rite directed towards that.
There also must be visualization as to what the aim is. The visualization should
be of the desired effect that would be seen. This aim should be written in order
to be burned at the specific time within the rituals, while thinking of the
end result.
There are different ways used to visualize energies, some are particles of light
or flame surrounding the Temple, or a sigil, baphomet or the individual sigil
of the person.
Rituals are important to the Satanist as they aid in there means of that the Satanist is. There are many rites and many different reasons, you have to be sure of the outcome that you want and never doubt or have second thoughts. For once it is done it cannot be reversed. In doing so it can and will be very dangerous and sometimes they are simply irreversible, this cannot be stressed enough, if it is chosen it cannot be stopped for uncertainty.
In regards to non-members being present during the rites, this is not acceptable, as the profane should not view these rites. All prospective members MUST go through the High Priest or Priestess in order to be considered to participate. However in the wedding and baptism these rules are waived.
Also, in regards to the rites that are being performed there cannot be any use of any substances that change the ability to reason, this is including any drugs and alcohol.
There are also certain rites that will be performed by elite members within the cove itself. These will be pertaining to special situations, and those will be notified when the rite is needed to be performed.
