冒頭の部分です。
"I feel like a ghost."

She is 48 years old, with the face that belies she's been all through.  She lives now on the outskirts of Paris with her husband, a French archetect.  And with the memories of two lives already lived.  One,luxury and splender, the other, darkness, deprivation and despair.

"You cannot forget what's happened."

She was born to wealth and privilege, the daughter of General Muhammad Oufkir, the head of Morocco Secutity Services and the king's closest adviser. She was only five years old when the king asked to adopt her as a companion for Princess Oulalamina.

"Why do you think your parents gave you to the palace?"
"It's simple for people like us, not really simple for you.   It was considered an honor for the family."
"Do you remember the day that you were taken to the palace?"
"Yes.  Yes, because it would... it was my first visit to the palace and for a child of five years old, it seems like a fairy tale."

She was raised behind the high walls of the King's 23 palaces, eachone is a city onto itself, a secret world of unimaginable appearance that only a few ever saw.

Nothing was denied her.  Except the freedom to leave this place of luxury and ritual where she and Princess Oulalamina shared quaters with the King's concubines.
