'Fellow Travellers' is my links page, consisting of friends and comrades and associations which I've ended up being involved in.
The marvellous miss alex, promoter of good taste (except for her Catholic kitsch) via The Gown of Thorns and comrade in arms on a who collection of matters, especially concerning style and censorship.
Barbarella is a well published writer of short stories, particular of erotica and horror genres. She also co-ordinates the aus.culture.gothic "show and tell page".
David is active in protecting the Internet from corporate and governmental censorship and his site reflects such activities. He is also Victoria's bane of the Scientologists, is a member of the famed alt.gothic Special Forces and co-proponent of aus.media-watch.
Dave set up the Australian Socialist Youth mailing list in 2000 and his site contains a plethora of material on politics, culture and music (including those fine lads, The Manic Street Preachers)
A genuine fellow-traveller, Kneebone hitch-hiked with me to the Woolongong Buddhist Temple in 1997 for the Chinese New Year. His site has some of Glenn's writings, music and photographs.
Loki writes exceptionally good work on role-playing games and other interests relevant to fantasy and science fiction fandom.
Peter's page contains various computing utilities and programs (including the famous "Gothcode" and "aus.politics code"), Australian political resources, and pre-Rafaelite material by Helen Rafferty. Peter has an extraordinary array of skills (as proven by his qualifications) and has been a good comrade for many years.
Gamer, roleplayer, physics and mathematical genius and politically progressive. What more could you possibly want from a single person. A dear friend of many seasons.
Raven's page is somewhat under construction, but nevertheless contains ample material of the things she loves in life; goth and medieval costume (an SCA member). I am however, waiting for Raven to include a cookbook as well...
Rikki is a good comrade of mine, a fellow traveller in Workers Liberty. Rikki also does delicious drag shows. This site contains some notes about the shows and a biography. Oh yeah and that's Wendy with Rikki on the frontpage. Mmmmmm...!!
A fellow fey creature, Roie is editor of a major monthly print magazine that she keeps (sort of) a secret. She was also the founding editor of internet.au and former assistant editor of Australian Macworld magazine. Roie's into poetry, science fiction, gaming and a whole bunch of queer politics stuff.
Stranger has included no less than eight years of poetry and prose on his site which is amply supplemented with goth webrings and links.
Tim is a poet of narrative skill and insightful veracity; and dammit, he's such a nice person.
Valeskah is the editor of the Perth goth fanzine "Virtual Dark". Her site contains material on that print zine, the rather famous (and clientelle managed) goth club "Dominion", the Doug Anthony All Stars, Xena and Madonna(?!?)
Valeskah is also listed as a "Goth Babe of the Week" in 1996. A title which she'll keep forever.
I first joined the Australian Labor Party in 1984 in Western Australia, but wasn't particularly active and found myself more aligned to the Democratic Socialist Party (below), who were the only far left group with any sort of youth presence in W.A. at the time. However I continued my membership to the A.L.P. until letting it lapse in 1988.
I rejoined the Australian Labor Party following the Federal Election of 1996. In 1997, having spend a significant period of the previous year travelling about the country, I decided to become more involved. Today I work for the Parliamentary Labor Party on full-time IT support and training as well as holding several committee positions within the Party.
Workers Liberty is, in my opinion, the most reasonable of the radical socialist groups in Australia. Which probably explains why they are so small. Unlike other groups in the far left the actually understand that 'democratic centralism' means unity in action rather than political interpretation and they understand that socialism is supposed to provide theoretical grounding to the practical desires of workers. Finally, they do not have an antithetical attitude towards the A.L.P. My involvement in Workers Liberty began in 2001.
