It may come as a surprise to you that I support the death penalty. Then again, it may not. Let me say more than that, though.
Some arguements I've been faced with are as follows:
I think that letting them rot in prison is a better punishment for their crimes. The death penalty is just an easy way out for them.
I'm glad you're proud of being a sadistic bastard, if that's the way you feel. You'd much rather someone sits around for several tortured years, eh? Let me say a few things about this.
First, punishing them makes no sense. Putting them in jail eliminates the problem of them being able to be out and commit crimes, but it wastes good taxpayer dollars. Killing them is a simpler and more efficient solution to the problem. Eliminate the disturbance and move on. They don't need to be punished.
Second, prison is hardly punishment. They get cable T.V., free meals, and a safe place to live at no expense. I don't know how much ass rapeage actually goes on in prison, but not everyone can be getting their asses fucked, right? Some people have to be the ones fucking asses. Either way, it sounds shitty (no pun intended), but I doubt that it happens as often as everyone makes it out to. Jail is a nice place to live for someone who can commit crimes and has no money.
It's not very nice.
Didn't you just say you liked to see them getting punished? Whatever crime they did was probably not very nice either. What does it matter to you if they die? Just let them be eliminated and out of the way.
Now let me present one or more of my own points:
1) Keeping them around is knowing that you have a problem and then watching it sit there. If a criminal is ever released again, he is likely to go out and commit crime again.
2) Keeping them around is a waste of resources. Taxpayer dollars are wasted on prisons. Seriously, people. You may say that a man's life is more important than money, but that's not true. If there's a shortage of money, people often die. Money makes things work, and you can't deny it. I may elaborate on this more later.
~Thanks for tuning in.~
