Indeed, hypocrisy is a useful arguement. Do you want to know why? People made it that way.

Over and over and over, people have been taught that hypocrisy is a sign of invalidity in the truth of a statement and/or an inefficiency of some sort in he or she whom is being referred to as a hypocrite. Have you ever stopped to think about the logic behind that?

Take this example that excellently and blatantly-obviously proves my point: If someone who smokes tobacco tells other people not to smoke tobacco, he is being a hypocrite. Well goddamn! We wouldn't want to take advice from someone who's experienced the downfalls of smoking first-hand, now would we? That's right. Not only is it not bad to listen to such a person, but it could also prove to be enlightening.

Although other situations aren't exactly like that, the same general idea can be applied. Maybe not the part about first-hand experience, but for fuck sake, if the advice is good, don't just ignore it because the advisor refuses to comply with his own words. After all, priests preach that pedophilic acts are crimes, right?

Actually, I don't know if priests do that; it just sounded like something Christians would say.

This is an article I've been wanting to write for so long. Hypocrisy is one of the biggest things that annoys me when I hear it come up. For instance: I was watching Dr. Phil today because people were going to debate him and I wanted to see just how stupid the arguements would get. They got pretty stupid alright. One of the people debating him said "Dr. Phil, didn't you get married when you were 26 when you tell other people not to get married before their 30?"

What kind of fucking SHIT point is that? He doesn't give a fuck what he did; he is giving advice that he believes you should do regardless of the fact that he himself did not do it.

Seriously, people. Think about it. Just because someone did something and then told other people to do something else doesn't mean we should all do what they're doing just because of the fact that they're being a hypocrite!

Yet, sadly, it's a formidible attack in an arguement. So many people have said it so many times that its become a valid point to make in that it will sway people in your favour, whether or not the fact that someone is a hypocrite actually means anything to support your argument.

Fuck. Sometimes I feel like blowing people's brains out because they think they're so smart when they call other people hypocrites. Good job, morons. You make stupidity out to be a bad thing and then go and use hypocrisy as an arguement. What a big, fat bunch of hypocrites you are.
~I sigh in the general direction of humanity.~

Back to further enlightenment.
