This is just about the stupidest story I've ever heard.
Apparently, this guy's brother's teacher said this guy's brother was "Going to be a genius soon!" He reads at two grade levels above his own and is the best in the school at math. Take note that this kid is one grade below the maximum grade of his school.
First of all, the word "genius" is being based on a very useless scale here. Secondly, how can the damn teacher tell if the kid is going to be a genius soon? Is there some sort of system that converts test scores onto the magical genius scale. Is the kid's genius level rising steadily? I think not.
If the kid was going to be a "genius," he would be one already. And if I were him, I wouldn't want to hear about how smart I was from a fucking moron who needs his brains blown out like that teacher. Damn...
So anyway, then this guy comes on the message board I visit occassionally. He's so excited about how his brother is almost a genius, obviously oblivious to the fact that his teacher is an asshat who could know less about what he was talking about if he wanted to make the effort.
And the kid is probably going to be convinced that he's a genius, because chances are, he's just another regular moron.
~If he's a genius, I must be a mastermind.~
