5) Some Protestants claim that St. Paul condemned all oral tradition (Col 2:8). If so, why does he tell the Thessalonians to “stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thes 2:15) and praises the Corinthians because they “hold firmly to the traditions” (1 Cor 11:2)?

The oral traditions the apostle speaks of are NOW in the 21 books written after 2 Thessalonians 2:15, as well as 2 Thessalonians itself.

That all oral teaching essential to the Christian faith (2 Tim 3:16f) became written scripture, is irrefutable fact.

KJV 2 Thessalonians 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Compare:
Mark 8:18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

Luke 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words,

John 16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them.

Acts 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Galatians 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Thessalonians 2:11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,

2 Peter 1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

It is God's Testimony all we need to know to be fully equipped for the Christian faith is now in our Scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

(And why does the Protestant NIV change the word “tradition” to “teaching”?)

Stephen Ray should calm himself, there is no vast Protestant conspiracy behind the NIV's translation, most Protestant translations read "tradition" (KJV, ASV, RSV, NAS, NJB, NKJ etc.).

Now that we have calmed him, perhaps he would be so kind as to share with us the precise oral tradition his apologetic implies he has, what Paul told the Thessalonians.

In reality he has nothing....its all bait and switch. While Catholic apologists cite this verse to prove oral tradition exists.....they mean the ever changing "living tradition" of Catholicism, which in all relevant properties, is the same as the "new light" most cults have. That garbage has no connection to the faith once delivered unto the saints:

Jude 1:33 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
