25) If Christianity is a “book religion,” how did it flourish during the first 1500 years of Church history when the vast majority of people were illiterate?

Does he really consider this loaded question...."Are you still beating your wife?" a "stumper"?

Bible Christianity didn't flourish, it was persecuted by Roman Catholics much of that time. See Foxes Book of Martyrs.

With that clarification in mind...the answer that eluded David Palm's penetrating mind is "the literate read the scripture to the illiterate", no doubt, it seemed the Bible Christian thing to do....
