1. Open up a new image.



2. Browse your files for a graphic that would make a nice pattern.

3. I’ve chosen roses.
4. Double click the image.

5. See the 1st box (foreground) on the right? It’s white because I’ve clicked on it and chosen white from the color palette.


6. Do the same for the 2nd box (background).
7. Click on the arrow for the styles box.

The pattern icon is the 3rd one from the left. Click on it. Then click on the image inside the box.

8. Click on your image.
9. Play with the scale until the image is as small as you want it to be. I usually use 20. This time, I’ve used 43. Click OK.
10. Follow the same procedure with the texture box, if you do NOT want the letters outlined. I am going to outline mine.

*This is really neat. The colors on the palette are colors contained within the graphic; so, they match!
11. Click on your text tool. It’s the A on the left side of the screen.
12. Click inside your blank image.

13. Type your name. Highlight your name. Choose a wide font. Set the size. I’ve chosen 48. Be sure that only Antialias and Floating are checked. Click OK.
14. Hold down the left mouse click and drag your name across until it is centered.
15. Click Selections and Select None.

16. Select the crop tool on the left side of the screen. It looks like 2 intersecting right angles.
17. Draw a rectangle around your name.

18. Click on the Toggle Tool Options icon at the top of the screen. It looks like a rectangle with a blue stripe across the top.

19. Click on Crop Image.

20. Save your image.

Go to Export. Choose either gif or jpg optimizer.

21. Set the compression to 20 or whatever looks right to you within the image screen on the right.
22. Name your image and save to a file.
23. ***This will give you an image with a white background. For a black background. Set the foreground and background to black instead of white. Click on the flood fill tool on the left side of the screen. It looks like a can with a drip. Now, click inside your blank image.
