Insanity at a glance
I was locked in a forest
Not long ago
No one could enter
I could not go

I sat all alone
Amongst only the trees
Listening to the screams
Of the rustling leaves

I sat there alone
Not saying a word
I then heard the cry
Of the lone mockingbird

Alone in the forest
Just simply as I
In the distance I heard
It's poor lonely cry

I then set out searching
Unsure what I'd find
No one to miss me
No one to mind

I was king of this world
Adventure I'd seek
I'd climb every mountain
I'd reach every peak

My quest now to find
That poor lonely bird
That lonely song sung
That cry that I'd heard

Only then this prison
I finally could leave
No longer I'd feel
The pain on the breeze

The prison I'd built
Existing only to me
This labyrinth built
Existing only in dreams

My pain would then end
Once I'd found that poor bird
The sad lonely bird
Whose cry only I'd heard.
