INTRODUCTION

I call upon everyone here to witness with me the marriage between Lester and Becky. We are here, not only to witness their commitment to each other, but also to wish them every happiness in their lives together.

Lester and Becky believe marriage is founded upon sincerity and understanding which lead to tolerance, confidence and trust. They feel it involves respect for each other's individuality, and that most difficult of tasks: the acceptance of each other's weaknesses and faults.

They know that a happy marriage will enable them to establish a home filled with love and stability. In this home, you--their family and friends--will find welcome, peace and support.

MONITUM FROM MARRIAGE ACT

Lester and Becky, I am authorised to perform marriages according to the laws of Australia.

Before you are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter.

Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.

DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE

Ladies and gentlemen, Lester and Becky have declared before us that they will live together in marriage.

They have made special promises to each other. They have symbolised it by joining hands, taking vows, and exchanging rings.

Therefore, by the authority conferred upon me, I now declare them to be husband and wife.

Something Old, Something New, Something
Borrowed, Something Blue ...

Lester and Becky share a special symbol

Lester and Becky surface as Mr and Mrs Litton

Jason reads a passage from Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet"

Lester and Becky, this reading is from the works of Kahlil Gibran:

You were brought together, and together you shall be for evermore.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your lives.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

The certificates were signed during Surface Interval Time.

We wish Lester and Becky joy and prosperity in their new life together.
