| Part 1: First day in my new school. The halls crowded with teenagers as old as me. But not quite like me. My locker was still empty although kind of dirty. I was heading to my first class when I bumped with this really handsome guy. Our books and papers fell and they were all scattered everywhere. He helped me with my belongings as he was picking his. Josh -�Hi! You must be new here, right? My name is Josh.� Liz -�Hey. Hmm...Yes, I�m new here. How did you know? Is it too obvious? Oh! My name is Liz, sorry.� Josh -�Nah...It�s not obvious. I noticed some of your papers and realized that. Well, I hope I see you around.� He left with a sweet smile in his face. At lunch time, he offered to show me the whole place. I was so lucky to be in every class he was in. Josh was my first friend in this school and he was always polite and sweet. Josh -�Here�s the GYM, and over there are 2 fields. One is for baseball and the other one is for football.� Liz -�It�s a huge school.� Rick -�Hey Josh,� a tall and mean looking guy said, �is that your new girlfriend?� Josh -�Leave us alone, Rick.� Rick -�Ok, I�ll do it after you pay what you owe me.� Josh -�Then I think I�ll stick with the fact that you won�t leave us alone.� Rick -�What do you mean?� Josh -�When you find a dictionary and finish searching for the word �no�, I�ll let you know. Bye!� Rick -�You little creep. Next time I won�t be as friendly as today. I don�t want the new girl to be afraid of me.� Liz -�What was that all about?� Josh -�I owe him some money after HE hit my car. I�m not going to pay something he did. Let�s continue, shall we?� Josh finished showing me the whole school. He even introduced me to some of his friends. It was already time to go home when I found a note in my locker: �Come here tonight at 8. We�ll meet in the football field. Stand in the middle of it. -Josh� Josh wanted to see me after school? Here? Weird... But I already developed a crush on him so I couldn�t say no to the note. Mmm...pizza, That�s what I ordered to eat because my mom is a doctor and she wouldn�t cook anything. She even came late in night because of all of her work. Yes. Finally 8 PM! I left a note to my mom telling her I went to a friend�s house and that I would return later. The football field was empty. It was also dark. I heard some mechanical noise around. Some kind of screech. Suddenly, I was all wet! The sprinklers were on! I heard several voices laughing and then some girls ran to a car a left. I recognized them. They didn�t like me because I was very close to Josh. What a disaster. I was leaving the field when I felt a hand covering my mouth and then a horrible pain in my neck. I felt dizzy and fell to the ground almost unconscious. I was awake enough time to feel something filling my mouth. I had to drink it. Maybe it was the water from the sprinklers. I felt a huge pain and fainted. I don�t know how long I remained that way, but it was still dark. Nobody was around and I decided to go home. I could barely remember what happened. Stupid girls, they barely know me! I hate being new! When I was about to enter my apartment, I realized that I forgot my keys. I was lucky thou because my mom was already there. She opened the door and looked at me in surprise. Mom ��Oh! Liz! Come in here immediately! Look at yourself. You�re going to catch a cold. I told you not to swim with your clothes on.� Liz ��I�m fine, really. Some girls pulled a prank on me. I�m ok. Nothing to worry about. I�m not even cold.� I decided not to tell her about the strange person that made me faint because I didn�t want to worry her with something that didn�t even hurt me. I was ok. I didn�t even feel pain or anything. Mom ��I have to go to the hospital. Call me if you need anything. Are you sure you�re ok?� Liz ��Yes. Pretty sure. Take care.� Mom � �I don�t believe you, but...ok...just take care. See you later.� She left to the hospital. I just wanted to go to my room. Although I was kind of hungry. I entered my room and saw my cross in the floor. It was a little shiny necklace that my grandma had given me before she died. I tried to pick it up but I felt as if it was burning. I had to drop it. I grabbed a towel and picked it up. That was weird. What a though day. I decided to check what outfit I would take the next day to school. I gasped in shock. When I stood in front of the mirror I couldn�t see my reflection. Liz ��What the hell is going on? This looks familiar. But it can�t be. That�s all fake. Vampires are not real. It must be something else. Maybe those girls decided to pull another prank on me...� Voice ��No. You know it�s real.� Liz ��Who said that? What�s going on?� A tall and handsome man stepped into the room. He was wearing dark clothes and looked pale. Man ��My name is Liam. I was the one who turned you into what you are now. I�m also the person you should call �Dad�.� Liz ��What!? How? Why?� Liam ��I met your mother 17 years ago. A year later, you were born. We were very young. One night, I had a fight with her and went with my friends to a club. I met another girl there who turned me into a vampire. I watched you closely every time I could. I wanted to make you like me. I wanted to teach you what a wonderful world this is. You won�t get older. You�ll get what you want without asking for permission and have plenty of fun.� Liz ��So you want me to follow your steps? Mom knows about this?� Liam ��No. She went to my funeral. How sad. (laughs) I�m not the emotional guy you thought I was, Liz. I�m much better than that.� Liz ��I still have a problem.� Liam ��What is it?� Liz ��I�m hungry.� So my dad was not a noble and sweet guy who died young? Well...he did die young. But now he was a vicious creature hunting for blood. And I�m just like him. He gave me a necklace that had some sort of spell. A protection spell. Liam ��It only lasts 24 hours and I told my vamp friends to make it specially for you. I�m giving you the chance to compare both worlds. The human and the vampire world. You will be able to tan, go to church, and even have a stake in your heart without the awful pain and even death it can bring.� I decided to give it a shot. I could go to school and hang around during the day but as a vampire. Liam took me to his coven. It was hard to call him �dad� but he didn�t care. After all, he appeared to be a handsome young man. He was turned into a vamp when he was 19. In the coven, he offered me someone to drink. I noticed it was one of the girls who pulled the prank on me. I was very hungry. I saw her into her eyes and grabbed her by the neck. I could feel the blood pumping and almost calling me to take it all. It was very tempting. I started to bite. Every single drink made me want more and more. What a delicious treat. I wasn�t hungry anymore. But I wanted more. I liked how it ran through my throat. I had too much life in it. Blood. It makes us all keep on moving. I thought it took hours to finish all that blood but I killed her in seconds. Let�s call it revenge. Part 2: A new vampire was on the loose in this crazy and new world. It was me. I liked my new life. Next day at school, I entered with a confident smile and strong steps. I was dressed with black clothes. They were better that the bright ones. I described my new personality. The necklace worked perfectly. I didn�t burst into flames. Many stared at me as if I was some kind of freak. The girls who tricked me where crying for her friend. I stood by their side. Liz ��Aww. I heard that your friend was missing. I was too wet to even care. Don�t worry. You might reunite with her soon. Just have faith and wish hard for it.� One of the girls ��You did this, right?� Liz ��Did what?� I smiled evilly and kept walking. This was so much fun. I couldn�t wait for lunch time! Josh ��Hi Liz! No offense, but you look pale. (he touched my forehead) And you�re cold too. Are you ok?� Liz ��I�ve never been better in my life.� Josh ��Whatever you say. Hey, I called you last night. I heard what Jenny (the girl I killed) and her friends were planning to do and wanted to tell you about it. I�m sorry for not being able to tell you in time.� Liz ��Don�t worry. She didn�t even come today. Maybe all that guilt was very hard for her.� Josh ��I don�t know. I hope she�s sorry for what she did.� Liz ��Oh, I bet she is.� Josh ��We should go to class now. The bell is about to ring.� Liz ��I�ll catch you later. I have something to do.� Josh just waved at me and left. I had some scum to find: Rick. Liz ��Hi Rick.� Rick ��He-llo sweetheart� Liz ��I want to make sure you pay Josh�s car. I heard what you did. He told me all about it.� Rick ��Baby, HE owes me. Give him the message. I won�t pay a thing.� Liz -�You said yesterday that you didn�t want me to be afraid of you. I�m not, although I don�t want YOU to be afraid of ME. Well, I can�t help it anymore. You�ll pay. Besides, I�m hungry.� Rick ��What the (I started biting his neck and covering his mouth as I took him to the janitor�s closet.) Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Let go of... Please... Awwwwww... No!� His blood was very good tasting too. At least I wasn�t hungry anymore and Josh got rid of his nightmare. The bell rang. The janitor is the one who cleans the mess anyway. At least all of his blood was drained so he didn�t spill any of it. History class. Boring for me and for half of the classroom. Should I eat the teacher too? Nah, maybe he had too much caffeine in his blood because of the 10 cups he drank a day and he was old so it was not a good combination. The class finally ended. Josh came over to my locker and looked at me nervously. He was up to something. Josh ��Umm. Liz? Would you like to go to the movies tonight? With me?� Liz ��Actually, that sounds like fun. Sure. Count me in.� Josh ��Ok. I�ll pick you up at 7� Liz ��Sounds great. I hope I�m not hungry at that time.� Josh ��We could go to eat something too.� Liz ��Sounds great. Is your car already fixed?� Josh ��Yes. I had to pay it by myself.� Liz ��I bet Rick wouldn�t mind to pay. He told me to give you this.� I handed him the money that Rick had in his wallet. �He looked strange. Kind of sick. He ran but gave the money first.� Josh ��Great! Now I�ll take you to some place fancy.� Liz ��You don�t have to bother. Well...I have to go.� Suddenly, his sweet smile and his shiny eyes made me feel strange. What was I doing? What was I thinking? He was the perfect kind of guy. I had ruined it all. Wait, it was my d-...I mean...Liam�s fault. I had to do something about it. I stole a bike and headed to his hideout. He must be there because it was still early and the sun was in all it�s might. I finally entered the cave they were in. They were all laughing and making too much noise. Liam noticed me standing in the entrance. He smiled and walked in my direction. Liz ��Liam, we need to talk. I don�t want to be a vamp anymore. It�s too much for me. I will end killing my mom and Josh and I really loved them. I think I still do although I don�t have a soul and my heart doesn�t beat.� Liam ��Calm down. I can�t do anything about it. Sorry. It�s your destiny now (laughs) Stick to it or cry about it.� Liz ��Wait. There IS something I could do. Bye (sarcastically) �DAD�.� It was all clear. I had to go to school. What a weird decision in a teenager. But I knew exactly what to do. Liz ��Josh. I was looking for you. I have to tell you something important and it depends on your decision to take mine. I�m a vampire. I killed Jenny and Rick. I�m afraid I might kill you and even my mom.� Josh ��You�re kidding, right? Vampires don�t exist. They just...don�t.� Liz ��Ok. I�ll make YOU take the decision for me. Do you want to be like me or do you want me to die?� Josh ��I wouldn�t bear with the fact of seeing you dead. But why would I want to be a vampire? You said yourself. I�m afraid to kill someone. I won�t decide something like that.� Liz ��I thought you would say that. Now I will have to kill you instead of making you a vampire. � I dropped my amulet without him noticing. Then I started to chase him. His heart beat was loud in my head. I wanted to drink his blood. He ran into the janitor�s closet and saw Rick�s body with two holes in his neck. Then he started to believe what I said and ran for his life into the lab. He searched for something made of wood. He broke a frame and grabbed the stake that came out of it�s breaking. He hid it in his back and called my name. Josh ��Liz. I love you. You should know that. Could I at least kiss you for the first and last time?� Liz ��Why do you make this more difficult?� Josh ��Please. It�s my last wish.� I approached with caution. He did the same. He looked into my eyes and started to put his lips on mine. Josh ��I love you. I�m sorry.� He whispered as he kissed me and I felt something across my chest. That�s when I saw the broken frame and the stake in my heart. I collapsed. Liz ��Thank you. That what I wanted you to do.� And with those last words, I finally died and turned into dust.
