| I'm bored as hell so don't blame me for crappy writing. Disclaimer: I don't own these characters, except for the mortals, but they don't really matter anyway Rating: PG I guess I just wanted to write something, I'm really really bored and I need help coming up with new ideas for But He Can, The Return of the Vampire Armand, and Unwanted Liaison. Title: Another Prepared Victim The breeze around New Orleans was soft, reminding Louis of the nights so long ago when he had been mortal here. The swamp smells still permeated the air, but he had long since grown accustomed, for he rarely noticed them anymore. He walked the streets numbly, his hunger now so great he really did not care which human he killed, as long as he got the blood. But he was alone on the streets, all the inhabitants of New Orleans that night seemed to have retired of stayed inside. Perhaps they were aware of the vampiric presence around them and kept to the safety of their houses, sometimes the mortals were smarter than they thought. Finally, Louis' prayers were answered as a young brunette, her skin almost as pale as a vampire's walked from a building to the sidewalk just ahead of him. She seemed to walk slightly fast, fearing an attacker, alone in the night. She hugged her thin coat more securely around her frame and her steps seemed to grow rapidly when she heard the slow steps of the hungry vampire behind her. She took a chance glance behind her and saw Louis. Finally, she began to run; so hungry, Louis decided to follow her, not merely letting her go as he would any other night. She ran quickly, her thin legs carrying her several streets before she had herself cornered in a dark alley. She turned to face her assailant, hoping and praying it was merely a man come to tell her something. But she knew better than that. She saw Louis' face and clenched her eyes shut, breathing quickly, burying her head down so that she didn't have to look up. But she just seemed to realize who she had seen and she froze. She opened one eye, squinting at the dark haired man coming toward her before she brought her head back up and opened her eyes, facing him. "Louis?" she whispered, unbelieving. He halted in his steps, looking at her incredulously. Taking it that she meant some one else, he continued to advance her. "LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC!?!" her perky voice very nearly screamed. "THE LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC?!?" He again halted, his eyes wide as he stared at the girl before him. "Oh my god, you are Louis right? Oh my god. I--I was going to be Louis de Pointe du Lac's victim? Me, ME!" He remained quiet, watching the young girls face as it contorted in joy, her little giddy movements almost startling him. "Listen, can I---can I have your autograph?" she asked, excited. "I only have this" she said quickly, whipping out an Interview with the Vampire movie poster. "Just right here please." she said, indicating the bottom portion with her black magic marker. Louis took the pen in his shaking hand, hunger racking his system. He signed the poster quickly and handed the marker back to her. "Now, resume please." she said, leaning back against the wall, acting frightened. "Oh, please don't kill me Mr. Vampire." she said, pretending to be horrified. Louis signed, throwing his hands down. "Damn it, this isn't going to work." he said, turning and leaving the alley and his crazed fan behind. He stomped to the rue royal and slammed the door behind him. Lestat leaned back in his chair and looked out into the foyer. He looked at Louis' thin and drawn face and came to a conclusion. "Another fan?" "Shut up Lestat." Louis said, stomping upstairs and preparing for another morning. The End Any feedback wanted please!--Lidia Vans Fan Fiction Home |
