History: When the demon Errtu raped the goddess Shila, she became pregnant. Kanil is that child. She gave him up, and he was kidnapped by the Ekishou, the Crystal Mages, and raised to think his mother had hated him. He's now trying to kill her. They trained him in the harshest of ways, and for a hundred and eleven years he was a ninja-in-training. They beat him, tormented him, etc. Finally, Kitarou and Kanzou sent him on a mission to retrieve the Crystal of Worlds from Faerun, and while there, he met Draugt, another half balor. This other was half drow, though, and the two fell into an alliance of convenience. Eventually they got together, bound by love and possession, and Kanil is now Draugt's loyal and loving bitch. The two of them lived in a cave until they killed the mage Crisias Lighttower together, which set the ball rolling. Kanil was injured in the fight, and Draugt abducted a healer to fix him; the healer died in the process and the healer's brother, Ran Ayama, is now hunting them down, accompanied by three other young men. Kanil and Draugt headed southward, eventaully arriving in Calimport and settling down there. Shortly after their arrival in the City of Sands, Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri of Bregan D'aerthe approached them for a business relationship. Now, more than a year later, they are on a mini-jaunt northward to retrieve an artifact. Unfortunately, this mini-jaunt has landed them in modern Manhattan, and they're currently living with a Gargoyle who wants to destroy humanity.
Personality: Kanil is happy go lucky, optimistic, brutally honest, and has one hell of a fucked up sense of humor. He's also short in the common sense department and has no subtlety or tact. He's actually pretty bubbly for such an evil dude. He swears like a sailor and a soldier, is always grinning, and loves Draugt til he's stupid. Not that he's the brightest elor in the bunch to begin with. But even though he's an idealist, he is evil. Make no mistake. He has been known to rip people to bits and scatter dead bits of people around a sleeping man's room for a joke. He adores cruelty and is malicious to the extreme. The embodiment of chaos and wicked mischief, he is a gambler with a tilted grin, a crazy child with a soul of sin, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Powers: As a result of having been raised a ninja, he doesn't really know that he's got powers from his father's side. It simply never occurred to him, even after watching Draugt do it, but he can, and does, have some balor powers. Globe of darkness at will, desecration of holy places, and detection of positive aligments are all things he can do... now if only he KNEW this. He has infravision and is virtually impossible to damage. Sleep effects and poisons are ineffectual against him, as are elemental attacks.
