History: Diego grew up on the streets of Baldur's Gate, and while it's not a bad city, it does have its seedier side. 'Sheltered' in no way applies to Diego. He was orphaned at age five when his ramshackle house burned down, killing his mother, father, and older sister and leaving him with a set of burn-scars all down his left side and leg. He was rescued from the blaze by a local rogue, who recognized in him the pickpocket mindset, and raised by her, a woman named Velvet who refused to commit to a guild. This refusal got her assassinated, and when Diego was twelve, he was back on the streets on his own. However, his mentor had taught him everything she knew, and he was in no way unprepared for the harsh reality. Since then, he has roamed Baldur's Gate, gaining somewhat of a reputation as both an excellent and able thief and one hell of a lover. Diego very nearly ended up as a boy prostitute, but thanks to Velvet, he was spared that ignominous fate. But a child on their own loses their innocence quickly, and Diego was no exception, on his back almost as often as his fingers were in other's pockets for the entirety of his teenage years. Now that he is an adult, he succumbs to only those he wishes, and picks plenty more pockets, living a nice life and, like his mentor, refusing a guild. He has but two missions - survive, and get revenge on the guild that killed Velvet.
Personality: Diego is more than a little bit crazy. He's a very charming little pickpocket, and he can usually sweet-talk his way out of tough situations. He never stops smiling, truly filled with the joy of the world, or perhaps a need to pretend he is. He likes people to think that there are no dark thoughts in that pretty head of his, whether it's because he doesn't want to seem weak, or because he wants to appear shallow, but there are plenty. He tends to be a bit paranoid when he's not indulging his lover-boy side, and his rough childhood does affect the way he thinks. It is very difficult for him to trust anyone, but when he does, he does so wholly, and the person he trusts is spared nothing. Diego also values life and love to an almost fanatical degree, and hates to hurt those whom he deems have not deserved it. Earning his wrath is nigh impossible, but once one has done so, there is nowhere to hide. For all his carefree attitude and sticky-fingered ways, he makes sure to keep an eye on the bright side and kick the ass of those who dare defile innocence, something that he treasures dearly simply because his is long lost. He likes sex and pleasure, no matter who it's with, and is incredibly forceful when he finds somebody he likes. However, he will not under any circumstances commit rape. He doesn't really need to. One little smile is all it usually takes. Diego's life philosophy includes 'steal a kiss and their purse all in one strike', and he does his best to live up to that.
Powers: Diego is a human, and while he seems to have an almost magical aptitude for convincing people into his bed, he is really simply very charming and sexy. He is incredibly fast and agile, deadly beautiful, and quite intelligent. He is excellent at getting out of tight spots and running for his life. Street life has honed this blade into one made not for killing, but for cutting purse strings.
