Part 1 - A Beautiful Day

It was a beautiful day, the kind of day one reads about in fairy tales. The sun shone down from a stunningly blue sky, perfectly free of clouds. A gentle breeze stirred the turning leaves, making them rustle, and some fall lazily to the ground, fluttering and twisting in flashes of color. It was early in autumn, the trees themselves blazing against the perfectly blue sky. It was idyllic, and Kieran appreciated it quite immensely, lying sprawled on his stomach on the grass beneath a huge oak tree, for once not reading, but simply staring into space. He had his arms tucked under his chin, black eyes unfocused as they gazed into the distance, the world just auburn leaves and blue sky.

A crunching of the leaves made him turn his head, squinting into the sun as his vision slowly focused again. Schuldig stood there, dressed in ratty black jeans and a swordbelt, combat boots crushing the leaves. His wild, flaming hair was only made brighter by the sunlight, bandanna nowhere to be seen as the red strands flipped in the wind. His jade eyes were dark, glazed over, as the German flopped to the ground next to Kieran. He was smiling, which was usually a friendly expression, but today it seemed a bit disconnected.

"Yo, der Arglose," the redhead purred, his words slurred somewhat. He grinned down at Kieran, who blinked up at him curiously.

"What does that mean, Uncle Schuld?" Kieran inquired, tilting his head. Black ropes of hair twisted over his back, trailing onto the grass all around him.

Schuldig's smile grew slowly, the German leaning down to brush his fingers over Kieran's cheek. "It means innocent, mein katzchen," he murmured, hand sliding into that thick velvet hair, sliding through the locks. A blush spread its way over Kieran's cheeks. Something wasn't quite right. He stared up at Schuld, confusion blatant in his wide dark eyes.

"U-uncle Schuld?" he boy tried softly, pulling himself up into a sitting position. Schuld just chuckled and reached out, wrapping arms around Kieran and tugging the boy into his lap. His smile twitched, looking predatory, and Kieran squeaked, clinging to the redhead's shoulders. He wasn't sure what was going on; Schuld's smile seemed more than a little bit vacant, and also somewhat hungry. He bit his lip. He trusted Schuldig, though, and just eyed him warily.

"You're so much like your father," Schuld said lazily, pulling Kieran against his chest. He rubbed his cheek against the boy's hair, lips pressing into his ear. "So sweet, so innocent, so delectable..." he trailed off. So soft, it was, like the night sky, and unendingly long.

Kieran shivered, a flicker of fear racing down his spine. He twisted, wriggling in Schuldig's lap. "Uncle Schuld, please, what are you doing?" he asked, black eyes wide. What did he mean about his father?

Schuldig laughed, a slow, trickling sound, and smirked evilly. The look on his face froze Kieran's blood, and suddenly he felt the way he had when he'd seen Daddy hunting. It made him feel like a rabbit in a wolf's jaws, and suddenly he wanted nothing more than to get away. He pushed away, but the German's iron grip was unyielding, holding him there.

"No you don't," the redhead chuckled, tangling a hand in Kieran's hair, tugging him closer. "I'm not done with you yet." He leaned down, holding the startled Kieran still, and kissed him slowly, lips warm and insistent. A surprised gasp escaped Kieran. Nobody had ever done that to him, not like that. Caden had kissed him, but Caden's kisses were nothing like this. This was being devoured whole by a blazing bonfire. Schuld's lips were hot against his own, and his tongue was demanding entrance, probing at Kieran's lips. The boy gave a muffled protest and jerked back, wishing wildly that his uncle would stop.

Schuld pulled away as though he had heard that fervent little prayer, licking his lips and eyeing Kieran hungrily. "Why not?" he asked huskily, smirking at the boy. Kieran looked so beautiful, trapped in his arms, black eyes sparkling with fear. That fear smelled so sweet...

"Please, I don't... I don't want to, please, just let me go," Kieran pleaded, little hands pushing at Schuld's chest. What was wrong with his uncle? He looked almost a man on dragonsalt looked, like a strung-out drunk.

A laugh rippled forth from the German. "No drugs, katzchen, just a mind," he chuckled. "And you know it will be good. You've done this before, haven't you? You and your darling Caden..." he purred, dipping his head to kiss Kieran's neck, suckling and nipping at that tender flesh. It drew a choked moan forth from the boy, pale hands jerking up to shove at Schuldig's shoulders.

"D-don't!" Kieran gasped, cheeks flushed darkly. How could Schuldig have known what he was thinking, known about he and Caden? They'd never told anyone, though Kieran suspected Daddy knew. He was not enjoying this sudden twist to his day and desperately wanted to run away and hide under a blanket with a book. Apparently that desire penetrated the haze surrounding Schuldig's mind, and the German pulled away, regaining a modicum of his self control and leaving one last, lingering kiss on that now-bruised spot on Kieran's throat.

Schuldig smirked down at Kieran, eyes glittering dangerously. "I can make it good for you, little one, -really- good... Don't be afraid."

Kieran shivered. "I don't want to. Please, stop, let me go. You're scaring me. That hurt," he added plaintively, one hand lifting to his neck with a wince.

Schuld's face fell like a kicked puppy. "I'm sorry, baby, I didn't mean to hurt you," he said, sounding genuinely contrite as he pressed a gentle kiss to Kieran's cheek. Kieran wriggled, still unsettled, but Schuld had always been nice to him... no. He wanted out, now.

"I-I know, Uncle Schuld," he said softly, chewing at his lip. "Can you please let me go now?"

Sighing, Schuldig nodded, stroking Kieran's hair lightly. "So sorry, katzchen, really. We'll keep this between us, ne?" he said with a warm smile. Kieran stared at him before nodding hesitantly.

"Hai," the boy agreed, ducking out of Schuld's grip.

The German smirked. "Our little secret."

Kieran bit his lip and nodded again. "Our secret," he whispered. Then he turned and ran toward the house, fleet as a summer wind.

Schuldig watched him go with a lazy chuckle and a wicked smile. Operation Arglose commenced. Stage one, complete.
