PROCEDURE

 

OBJECTIVES:

1st.Revise the con. from the previous lesson and practise similar one.

2nd.Study how words are divided in print.

ACTIVITIES:

B. (10m)

 

·       Write on the board:

 

   Why should the pupil go to university? because he is an intelligent; quick to learn and understand boy, he's got good grades , and his English is good.

 

·       Play the cassette, S repeat then find the answer.

·       Open PB/10, look at A, play the cassette again.

·       Ask S to say the conv. in column A twice.

·       Look at B, Two S stand up and say the con. but substitute the words from column B where appropriate.

·       Two of the S and practise the conv.

 

 

 

·       Open WRB/8, remember them to write the paragraphs.

·       Look at P/9, read the title of part A and part 1, S read aloud the inf. and examples in part 2.

Introduce:

Ø syllable: a part of a word as shown in the example here.   Show S a card which show them it.

·       Turn P/10 read aloud the title of part 3, introduce:

     Øhandwriting: the way you write.

     Ønative speaker: Ali is a native speaker in Arabic but John is a native speaker in English.

 

·       Read aloud the ex. on dividing the word sometimes. S decide which of the 4 ways to divide sometimes they think are correct. S look at the bottom of the page , and elicit that there is only one way to divide the word between some and times.

·       Look at the ex. at the bottom of P/10, read aloud the ins. Elicit the 8 words that have been divided.

·       Open PB/14 and find the word humanities, ask how many syllables are there? 3, look at WRB/10, ask: Between which letters is the word humanities divided? between 'a' and 'n'. Is that correct? No. S should put û next to huma-. Do the rest at home.
