·       Look at P/7 and think about the mistakes.

·       Turn P/8, S read aloud the ins. S must do the this for homework.

·       Hang the poster:

 Ask: Who do you think these two people are? a teacher an  a pupil. say: They are talking about these two certificate . What are the differences between them?  One I says Arts and History; the other says Science and Mathematics. Where are they come from? a university.

·       Say: If you study at a university for several years, and if you are successful, you get a degree. If you study Arts , you get a Bachelor of Arts degree. If you study science, you get a Bachelor of Science degree.

·       point to the two people and ask: What are they discussing? going to university, what to study at university, how to get into university.

·       Write these Q's on the board:

                                                                                            Þ   What is the pupil's name? Faisal

                                                                  Þ   What is he about to do? He is about to leave school.

                                                                  Þ   What are his favourite subjects? maths and history

                                              Þ   What will the teacher tell him? about the universities he can go to

·       S read aloud the Q's, introduce Ø about to: just going to do something. Say: I am about to play the cassette?

·       Play the cassette, and find the answers to the Q's on the board.

·       Open PB/9, , look at Q's, S read aloud the Q's, introduce: Ø learn: meaning find out, discover, hear.

·       S answer the Q's and introduce: ØWhat a pity: It is sad.

·       S read aloud the ins. for B/P9, play the cassette and elicit the words that are similar.

·       Introduce: ØTo tell the truth, keep on, keen on & consider.

·       S look at C/9, read aloud the ins. the Q's and S give the answers.

WRITTEN WORK:

Write a fair copy of the paragraphs on writing  book P/7.
