·       Open WRB at the page with the title Symbols for Correcting Writing. I'll Revise it with them.

 

 

·       Hang up the poster, say: This table is about a novel by Charles Dickens.

·       Ask Q's by using the column on the left. S say short answers according the column on the right: introduce: Øsummary: giving the important points. Ø country: = state not a town.

Great Expectations

 

                  Great Expectations was written by Charles Dickens. The story takes place in England in the nineteenth century and the main character is Pip. Other character include Pip I sister, who was strict and

hard, and Joe, who was kind and warm -hearted.

                  Pip lived in the country with his sister and Joe, her husband. He received an allowance from a man who was wanted by the police and he was sent to London for his education. When this man died, the

allowance stopped, so Pip needed to work. Finally, he had a successful career.

 

 

·       Open WRB/5, look at the table in B, S read aloud the title. Introduce Ø work = a novel, play or poem.

Look at The Merchant of Venice. Introduce Ø merchant: a person who buys and sells goods. ØVenice(vèn¹îs): A city of northeast Italy in the Gulf of Venice, a wide inlet of the northern Adriatic Sea. Founded in the 5th century A.D.

Ask Q’s about The Merchant of Venice and S’ll answer, introduce: Øgenerous: liking to give things to people.ØJew (n): a person of the religion (translate it). Ø mean (adj) = unkind & unfriendly; wanting to keep everything for yourself. Øgreedy: (adj) wanting too much. Øclever (adj) quick to understand and learn.Øsave (v) = rescue; take someone or something out of danger.

WRITTEN WORK:

Correct the paragraphs on WRB/6.
