·       Open WB/4, S read the whole sentence answer to Q 1.

·       Ask S to use the substituted words in new sentences.

 

 

·       Draw a time line on the board and like this:

·       Ask some Q's:

  1.  Do you remember the con. about literature in the first lesson?

  2.  When did the conversation take place? in the past, a short time ago. Put X for the past.

  3.  Point to the time line before the X, ask: Did the books arrive in the library before the con. or after? before the con. Write this sentence :The books had arrived.

  4.  S repeat these Q & A    ØHad Jamal been in the school library recently? No he hadn't.

  5.                                       ØWhat had happened there? Some new books had arrived.

 

 

·       Ask: Why are we using the past perfect tense? We are talking about a time before a time in the past.

·       Open PB/7, S read the sentences in boxes 1,2 & 3. Þ introduce: refer to: speak about something.

 

 

·       Ask: What did Majeed say about the stories and easy English?

 

"The stories have been rewritten in easy English"

 

·       Say: If we want to report what Majeed said in the past, what do we say:

 

He said the stories had been rewritten in easy English.

 

·       Do the same with:

 " Have you in the library recently?"   ðHe asked Jamal if he had been in library recently. S repeat.

 " Did Dickens write plays, too? "    ð He asked if Dickens had written plays, too.

·       Open PB/8, box 4, S read the direct and reported Q's.

·       Look at box5, S report what Majeed and Jamal said:
