· Open PB/3,S take(5 m) to read the passage again and underline the words they don't understand. · S say those words show S the cards of those words, write them on the board. · Introduce size: Read the sentence, L:20, ask : What are the scientists want to know? = How big are they? · Look at PB page/4S read the words, their definition and answer the Q's (*). · There are 6 new words: · In extract: introduce dentist: a doctor who specializes in teeth: the singular of teeth is tooth. · In solid, introduce container: a thing which contain something, e.g., water, butane, rice. · In symbol, introduce sword: There are two swords on the Saudi flag. · In unwanted, introduce: prefix, the first part of a word when it means something by itself. · Ask the following Q's: 1. How did oil begin to form? Tiny plants and animals died, sank to the bottom of the sea and rotted. 2. How did the chemistry of the plants and animals change? Hydogen and carbon came together and made hydocabons. 3. How was natural gas formed? With hydrocarbons. 4. What in the passage tells that oil isn’t easy to find? Modern technology has to be used 5. What do satellite pictures and explosions do? They show the shapes , sizes and types of rocks under the ground. 6. What are the drills do? To get samples of rock from under the ground and to extract oil and gas. · Open WB/2, look at the True and False ex, S work in pairs to find and write the answer. Some S say the answers others will correct their mates. · Look at the WS, S read and complete the sentence.
