	J. MARK McVEY, an acclaimed Jean Valjean with the Broadway, London and American National Companies of LES MIS�RABLES, will return to Cameron Mackintosh�s New York production of the Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Sch�nberg musical beginning Tuesday, January 29th at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). McVey originally made his Broadway debut as Valjean in January 1991, after starring in the First National Company, for which he won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor for his performance. He was also the first American to perform the role of Jean Valjean in the London production. He most recently played the role on Broadway from March 7, 2000 to April 21, 2001, prompting Clive Barnes in the New York Post to give the production FOUR STARS and write, "Anchoring the show is the excellent J. Mark McVey." McVey�s return to the Broadway Company follows the New York production�s playing performance #6,138 on January 25th to surpass the legendary run of A Chorus Line and become the second longest-running show in Broadway history. The New York production has been seen by over 8.5 million people since it opened on March 12, 1987 and this year celebrates its Fifteenth Anniversary. Worldwide, the musical has been seen by over 45 million people, with a total box office gross of over $1.8 billion. There have been 43 productions of LES MIS�RABLES, in 33 countries, in 20 different languages. Based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, LES MIS�RABLES is an epic saga that sweeps through three turbulent decades of 19th century French history.
