| Flying with a Wine Cruzer |
The gang at Wine Cruzer did a cool thing. I suggested making a cruzer for a wine case that would have larger inserts and room for a decanter and they made one for me to prototype. Here is a little information about the case: WOO HOO! I picked up the prototype today! It was pretty funny. This company is the same place I get my pelican cases from! I had no idea they also did custom inserts. I got to meet Mike, the president of the company and the lead developer who said his eyes are still crossed from working on this case. I cannot believe something we chatted about on Wed was existing on friday. I am posting the information here for feedback, FYI etc. While the company was cool to give me a discount for some of my feedback I am not making any money on the sale of these cases. Just dont want you to think I am in it for the money. I am in it for the geeky! many pictures:
1. 4 3.55 slots #1 Each slot has three donut like items that have two different thickness levels. The idea is if you have a bottle that is not as wide as the insert, you can stick a donut on it to keep it snug. The longer one is perfect for half bottles. The donuts top and side

#2 A larger slot. Will hold both Pax and standard champagne no problem. This has two donuts instead of three.
#3 Decanter or Mag. This slot is pretty complex. It has a bottom removable plug for a mag and long thin side donuts that can be placed around the bottle / decanter for a snug fit The rings and plug

This is the only real glitch with the prototype. A magnum sits too high. They will need to cut a little of the extra padding layer at the bottom to fix this. Mag trying its best to fit in the case with both outside rings:

The case filled and ready to go:
I am happy to answer any questions. It am travelling to Atlanta with it next week. |
