Welcome to the first issue of Le Cafe Singe Bleu
by Caroline Miniscule
Le Cafe Singe Bleu is a web magazine devoted to the mystery genre in books, film, television, radio, theatre, comics, magazines and games.
We are a monthly magazine, so be sure to bookmark our Index page which will provide a link to each new issue. Or sign up for our Announcement List which will provide you with the appropriate URL, as well as news on any updates to previous issues (the joy of electronic publishing is that no article is immutable). There is no cost to access our magazine.
We specialize in Dated Death, mysteries set in the past such as in Egypt during the time of the Pharoahs, Rome in the time of the Ceasars, or England during the time of Victoria. But we do not neglect the contemporary, but now historical, mystery either - anything written prior to 1980 - and for them we provide tidbits of information which we also call Dated Death. The classical mystery writers such as Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers (what does all that Latin mean?), Raymond Changler, Dashiell Hammett, etc. etc. will all be represented in our pages eventually.
Each issue will feature:
1) An editorial
2) Book reviews: Fiction and Non-fiction
3) Articles:
12345 Up, up and away! - mysteries in the comic strips
12345 Bang! Pow! - mysteries on television
12345 ''I don't play the sap for nobody'' - classic films
12345 The theatre of the mind - old time radio
