6/2/02 - Les Honky
More Tonkies tore up yet another venue last night, this being the largest
thus far. AmSouth
Amphitheatre and it's near-capacity crowd was rocked from head to toe and
all before the headliner
even took the stage. While opening for Hank Williams, Jr. the boys
made a big impression with their
bigger than life sound.
4/19/02 - Check out the May/June
issue of No Depression
magazine for the most unintelligible record review
ever written, inspired by none other than the best rock 'n' roll band to
ever cover an '80s country
music classic!
4/13/02 - The first ever official
LHMT T-shirt was unveiled tonight at The End. Be sure to get your
Honkimania
apparel when the boys come to your town. Keep your eyes open for new merchandise
coming soon!
3/2/02 - Tonight was the
long awaited CD release party and it lived up to all the wily expectations
of Honkimaniacs
across the country (or Davidson Co. at least). A good and drunken time
was had by all.
2/27/02 - The boys gave a little
lesson in rockology to the patrons of Tower Records, Nashville,
tonight while promoting
the new album, Greatest Hits. In
attendance was none other than Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame. Already a
founding father of Southern rock, Mr. Gibbons was a rather easy convert to
the Les Honky gospel of love.
2/15/02 - After much anticipation
and a few false starts, the long waited debut album from the greatest band
to ever
grace a stage is finally here. Greatest Hits can now be
purchased directly from any member of
Les Honky More Tonkies. Check back to the website soon
for internet purchases or go to your favorite
local record store and pick up a copy. If they don't carry it yet,
just say "I want my LHMT!" For added
effect, sing to the tune of Sting's vocal in the Dire Straits
hit "Money For Nothing"; they'll be sure to get
the point.
2/9/02 - The Les Honky
boys tore up Knoxvegas once again last night. The folks at
Blue Cats
got a nice surprise
from the band when they covered their entire debut album, Greatest Hits.
Unfortunately -- and due
to forces totally uncontrollable to LHMT -- the release of the album has
again been delayed. You can be
sure to find it in your favorite local record store or off the website
before Monday, February 18th. Be
ready because it's good enough to make you lose a couple bodily functions
that you didn't even know
you had!
1/5/02 - After a
nice holiday break, the fellas ventured back to The Sutler for
a rip-rockin' good time. With the
album finally done, you Honkimaniacs can expect to see the
finished product dropped on February 5th.
Check back for more details!
11/18/01 - Another trip to Murfreesboro,
and the boys are almost done with the album. The drop date has been
moved to December 18th. So keep your pants on! It'll
be out soon....
10/19/01 - With the help of a bunch of
drunk, rowdy friends, Les Honky More Tonkies tore apart The
Sutler once
again. Special thanx go out to The Bitter Pills for one
loud rock show and to all of the out-of-state visitors
that graced us with their presence.
10/15/01 - On the latest trip to the
studio, Les Honky More Tonkies has finished recording the
upcoming album.
Next up: The Dreaded Mix!
10/10/01 - The Les Honky boys broke
The
Boro's cherry tonight. The guys left triumphant once again
having suckered
in a few more fans.
10/2/01 - Two more songs down. The guys are planning
on being done with the album within the next couple of week.
Look for previews of the new material soon on the audio
page.
10/1/01 - The boys finish up a couple more tunes for the
upcoming album.
9/26/01 - Once again, back in Murfreesboro working on the
record.
9/18/01 - Back in Murfreesboro, those rowdy NashVillains
continued to chip away at the records. A tentative drop
date of November 23rd is set for the as yet untitled debut album.
9/17/01 - The guys headed back to the studio today to lay
basic tracks for their upcoming debut album.
8/23/01 -
The Les
Honky boys entered the studio to track "Black Cadillac" for the
upcoming
movie Blackbirds and
Blazers, directed by Kevin Pace. The
studio, Church Street Sound, in
Murfreesboro was a Confederate hospital during the Civil War. Hank Yankee
is still
recovering from the horrible nightmares that have been plaguing him ever since.
