Crystal's Story

Going Beyond !!!

Dear Lauren, Sparky, my birth Dad, my birth Dad's girlfriend, my birth Dad's girlfriends daughter and I went camping. I call my birth Dad "Daddy", Daddy's girlfriend Lesa, and Lesa's daughter is Heidi or Sissy. The first thing we did was go fishing. We caught 8 fish. We were still eating the fish when a bear smelled the fish and came over to the fish. Sparky tried to protect us, but the bear scratched Sparky extremely bad. We gave the bear some fish but it did not go away. I got a towel and wrapped Sparky in it and went straight for the pond. Lesa, Heidi and Daddy gave all their fish to the bear. If finally went away ! "Sparky is hurt extremely bad, Come Quick !", I called out. "I have a first aid kit set," said Lesa. "Good, tell me what to do" I said. "First put the towel in the water". "Ok." "Next, clean Sparky with the towel where she is wounded. "Ok." "Put these badanges over the cut," exclaimed Heidi. "Daddy go get the truck!", I said. Daddy got the truck and we went to the vet. "Is she going to be okay?" I asked. "I don't know, I just don't know", Daddy replied. We fianlly got there. "Is she going to be okay?", Daddy asked. "I don't know this wound looks pretty bad. We will have to take some x-rays", the Doctor replied. They x-rayed Sparky and her front left leg was broken. They put a dog cast on her front left leg. "Her back will have a big scar", said the Doctor. "Will she,,,,she,,,,live?", I asked. " She is a very lucky dog. She will live", the Doctor replied. "The Doctor gave me some medicine to put on her back so the scar will go away. "Sparky's leg will heal in a month", the Doctor said. We left the vet and told the story to my Mom. My Mom shrieked at the part of the bear, but at the part that we were going to live my Mom was relieved. Sparky did get better and came back to normal. "No more camping trips for you", my Mom said. "But,,,,", "No butts, I'm afraid if you go on another one you will get hurt s bad as Sparky and maybe die." "All right". Your Friend, Crystal

Crystal, I am so glad you are exploring the technique,,,,,it shows that you are a very creative person. This will come in handy in the future. If you remember that is one of the reasons I fell in love with your Daddy. The capabililty to tell a story is a special gift,,,,,we need to encourage this more in young adults. Poetry, short stories, music and art are all very dear to me and I am so glad you have talented in all these fields.
