OCCUPATION: William and his son Lee ran first, Palmer and Son Auto Livery and then the Palmer and Son Taxi in Scottsbluff in the 1920's and 30's. Prior to running the taxi he worked at the Bayard Lumber Company in Bayard, Nebraska.
NOTE: William and Nora lived at 614 East 11th St. in Scottsbluff, Nebraska when Leroy was little. He remembered going there to see them once. They drove around the block on East 9th and there was a black lady throwing out a pan of dishwater. He thought that was really neat as black people were very uncommon around here at that time.
