This program is FREEWARE. You may freely copy, distribute, etc. this program.
You may NOT decompile, reverse engineer, etc. the code of this program.
Send your suggestions to me and I'll try to incorporate them into the next version.
The source code is not likely to be released, but I might be persuaded.

Program was tested with patch 1.06.200, so if you encouter problems try to upgrade
your game. After applying Bethesda's FixSave program will not work correctly until
savegame is re-saved by game itself.

1. Running DFHack

You can put DFHack in any directory on your hard drive. You may create shortcut the DFHack.exe
or run it directly from Start menu. Since DFHack is Win95 program it uses its file open
dialogs to locate and open saved game files.

2. Basic Operation

I tried to make the interface as user friendly as possible. Everything is on a screen
when you start program. There are two cammands in File menu: Open and Save. Save is also
available from toolbar thru disk icon.
When you choose to open a saved game file common Windows file open dialog will appear. The you
can find your saved game files and choos one to open. All changes are stored in file on exit.
You can also press disk icon to save unit record.

3. Required Win95 files
DFHack is using Microsoft MAPI for sending email from program. MAPI files must be present on
your system when you run DFHack.exe. This files are usually installed when you add MS Exchange
as default mail software. If are not using Microsoft Mail software you will not have
mapi.dll and mapi32.dll installed, but you can extract this file manually from Win95 CD.
In my case it is in \Win95 subdir. In file win95_06.cab I found mapi.dll and in next one,
win95_07.cab there is mapi32.dll.

If you are sure that you could not find MS Exchange on your Win95 CD (I doubt it) try to go to
Cotrol Panel|Add/Remove Programs. Choose Windows Setup. Select MS Exchange. Click Details.
Check all componets. Close all windows with OK. Insert Win95 CD when asked. You got Default Windows
Email software installed, so MAPI dlls are now in your system directory for sure.

I am not sure if it's leagal to spread Microsoft Windows 95 files using email, so I have not included
Win95 MAPI files with my editor. Contact Microsoft, check www.microsoft.com (you can for example download
MS Exchange Service Pack, it will contain latest versions of these files).

Keyboard support is very limited. I would recommend to use mouse for best results.

have a fun,
