| Phoenix Trees Phoenix Trees are large bushes that release fire as soon as they make contact with another object. This fire is usually in the form of pure heat as we experienced back in the Greenhouse. Legend says what is now Mongolia, used to be a lake until Phoenix Heat caused the temperature to raise up to 110 C (or 262 F) and evaporated all the water. Then why are they called Phoenix Trees?, many people ask often. They are called this because they can cast a magic upon themselves to transform themselves into a pine tree. This disguise is helpful because many animals feed on Phoenix Trees as a dessert. Countless birds have opened their mouths expecting to be chewing on bittersweet petals when instead they are munching on hard bark. It is near impossible to distinguish a real pine tree from a Phoenix Tree in disguise. However, near the center of a pine tree in disguise is usually a distortion of colors. Getting close to this distortion, sometimes called the eye of the tree, will force it to change back into its real form. Its real form is, of course, a large, oversized bush with large leaves and long, purple blossoms. Use of Phoenix Tree parts in Potions consists mainly of the shredding of its leaves to strengthen potions. Though the purple blossoms are dropped into Storm-Summoning Serums as a substitute for Augury powder. Phoenix Trees are present in many legends as a place of protection or destruction. It is said a good person who seeks shade under the tree will be healed of any physical ailments. However, an evil or wicked person seeking shade shall only be tormented with their desires and tantalized until they have gone insane. Phoenix Trees are found usually on islands where they are very moist. They can be found in Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti as well as the surrounding areas of those places. They can also be found in England near the coast. |
